Hutcherson is right: Did the US ambassador in Latvia really support gays?

Gundars Bersinsh, the Member of Board of People’s party of Latvia and former Minister of Health and Finances said that Ketrin Todd-Baily, the USA ambassador in Latvia, was withdrawn to Washington because of her unprofessionalism and attempts to influence domestic affairs of Latvia, reports delfi.lv.

“Now everyone pretends that doesn’t know anything, everyone says that Ketrin Todd-Baily goes back of her own free will. But in reality that lady has done a very bad job and the State Department Committee decided to withdraw her. She was the worst enemy of USA interests in Latvia”, - said Gundars Bersinsh.

This statement of the former minister gave rise to an instant reaction of the conservative society, whose representatives immediately reminded of the visit to Latvia of the delegation of American human rights defenders. During his visit to the USA Embassy in Latvia, the American human rights activist Kenneth Hutcherson concluded that the USA ambassador in Riga Ketrin Todd-Baily spends money of the American taxpayers without their knowledge in order to support homosexuals in Latvia. Just after this visit the Latvian liberal newspaper “Diena” published controversial material that discredited American human rights activists who came to Latvia. “Diena” said that their visit had not been sanctioned with the White House and that no one among the government institutions knew of such ambassadors as Ken Hutcherson and Scott Lively.

“It is impossible to imagine that such an honorable person as the USA ambassador in Latvia could allow herself to spend the money of American taxpayers in order to support homosexuals. If Gundars Bersinsh is right, that means that Kenneth Hutcherson succeeded in bringing this information to the Committee. I thank God that the State Department of the USA understands the situation in Latvia and considers Christian values that are the foundation of Latvia as well as of the United States,” says Alexey Lediayev, the leader of the New Generation Christian movement.

As was reported earlier, Kenneth Hutcherson characterized the situation with the homosexual rights in Latvia. In particular he said: “Homosexuals in Latvia are not discriminated. But why people don’t think of the abuse of children and women, why do people close their eyes on legal prostitution? Why does no one speak of the discrimination in these areas? Could it be true that the government wants to change laws and the Constitution just because the nation itself cannot accept homosexuality? Here is my question: are homosexuals really more important than children and women?”
