Cincinnati archbishop joins in prayer at 40 Days for Life vigil

Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr, who will replace Cincinnati's Archbishop Daniel E. Pilarczyk upon his retirement later this year, joined with 40 Days for Life vigil keepers in front of the Dayton Women's Health Center abortion clinic yesterday to pray the Rosary, reports Thaddeus M. Baklinski, LifeSiteNews.com.

"God's greatest gift is life and what God gives, only God has the right to take away," the Archbishop said to about 200 people gathered at the abortion facility at 1401 E. Stroop Road. "We have to be concerned with all life, especially the most vulnerable among us. We're praying for the conversion of hearts today."

Among the 200 present at the 40 Days for Life vigil were 50 grade six to eight students from nearby Royalmont Academy. Commenting on Archbishop Schnurr's attendance, principal Tony Ferraro told the Dayton Daily News, "It's tremendous. He's the head of the flock. It certainly affirms (the church leadership's) commitment."
