Russian Baptists unite with Orthodox church agansit homosexuality
Russian Baptists remain steadfast in their interpretation of homosexuality and same-sex relationship as a sinful lifestyle, said the head of the Department of Foreign Church Relations of the Russian Union of Evangelical Christians, Vitaliy Vlasenko, Watchmen on the Walls reports.
“Speaking of homosexuality, I would like to declare that Russian Baptists do not accept same-sex unions and homosexual relationships. This is sin and we will stand firm in our position on it until the end,” he said.
He also emphasized that his organization joins with the Russian Orthodox Church in condemning such relationships.
Mr. Vlasenko said that all Russian Protestant churches condemn same-sex unions, a position which has been declared by the council of the leaders of the Protestant churches of Russia.
