Watchmen On The Walls kicked off the conference in Latvia
It is traditional for the New Generation Church to celebrate its anniversary with annual denominational conferences in November. This is the 18th anniversary of the church. The denomination’s birthday is always marked by festive excitement which for a great part is a contribution on the part of the international worship team.
The opening of this November conference featured yet another good tradition when Liga Dimitere, Orthodox Christian believer and daughter-in-law of renowned Latvian actress Vija Artmane, came up to the platform. She expressed warm thanks to New Generation and Pastor Alexei Ledyaev for heartfelt sincerity and practical kindness that helps the actress to endure her days of trouble. Liga Dimitere had been among the first to go out protecting Latvia’s Christian values during the attempts to impose gay prides on Riga and stood up next to New Generation in the streets. Her words addressing Christians provided evidence to the Watchmen’s unifying force. Once again, the Sports Manège welcomed a charitable action as a new disk titled The Kindred Blood featuring chapters of the famous actress’s life was presented. An opportunity for an act of good will and to give the favorite actress a piece of his or her heart was extended to participants of the conference through buying the disk. Liga Dimitere folded in a bow to express her gratitude and raised a burning candle over her head as a symbol of faith, light, and kindness.
The opening session also featured a sermon by Pastor Alexei Ledyaev titled ?A Spear and a Harp’. The message focus was on becoming victors through gaining strength. Now, strength depends on weapons that secure authority and power. The weapons of Christians are faith, prayer, truth and holiness.

We are the Watchmen on the Walls.
We are a global coalition of men and women of every race, color and nationality who believe in the superiority of the natural family and marriage between one man and one woman.
We are against cohabitation, divorce, abortion, adultery and other behaviors that weaken the marriage-based society on which civilization depends. But we are especially focused against homosexuality, because those who practice this self-destructive vice, and have organized themselves into a political movement, are the chief enemies of the natural family.
We do not promote or condone violence.
We do not apologize for opposing homosexuality because it is morally, physically, psychologically and socially wrong, unnatural and harmful. This is self-evident to the vast majority of the citizens of the world, whom we represent.
We reject the suggestion that our view is hateful. While we know that some people hate homosexuals, we don’t. We view homosexuals like we view alcoholics: unfortunate people trapped in a bad lifestyle. Like alcoholics, they should have the right, if they reject therapy, to enjoy privacy in their own homes. But they should not be allowed to publicly recruit others to their lifestyle. Pubic advocacy of homosexuality should be, like public drunkenness, culturally discouraged to minimize its impact on society.
Our purpose is to network internationally with people who share our views, and to help them to promote the natural family, traditional marriage, and recovery for homosexuals who want it. We will help people who share our views became the leaders of academia, business, government and media in every nation of the world.
We know our position will be met with outrage among those who accept homosexuality as normal and healthy, especially journalists in America and Europe, a great many of whom are themselves homosexuals or pro-“gay” activists. We know these people will attack and vilify us relentlessly, but we will not allow them to intimidate us or to rob us of our right to share in the public dialogue about the direction in which our societies should go.
We are seeking clear-thinking men and women of every nation and ethnicity to join with us. We don?t want cowards who, for example, speak out against “gay” marriage but are afraid to say that homosexuality itself is wrong. And we don’t want bigots who hate homosexuals in the same way they hate races other than their own. We want brave people of conscience who love and respect the natural design of the human family and want it to be promoted, established, strengthened and protected as the foundation of every society on earth.
We are the Watchmen on the Walls and we will not shrink from our duty.
